RAMOS DRIVES IN THREE, LEADS SAINTS PAST SEMINOLE 10-4
Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints (27-8, 9-2 MFC) continued their winning ways Sunday afternoon, defeating the Seminole State College Raiders 10-4 at Santa Fe Field. The win is the seventh in a row for SF, The Saints have averaged over nine runs per game during the winning streak.
Graham Ramos led the charge offensively, finishing the day 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Ryan Yarbrough (6-1) started on the hill and pitched five innings, allowing three runs with five strikeouts to earn his sixth win of the year.
SF started the game off in a big way, scoring seven runs in the first inning, chasing Seminole State starter Kurtis Gans after just 0.1 innings.
Mallex Smith started the opening frame with a triple and Shane Kennedy followed with a single to get SF on the board. Drew Dot then stepped in and doubled and two batters later Trey Griffin singled home a run. Graham Ramos kept the rally going with a single, plating two more. Jacob Tillotson followed with a single to score Ramos and Ryan Rodriguez doubled to put runners on second and third. The final Saints run of the inning came on a misplayed grounder by the Seminole second baseman.
Santa Fe added one in the second on a double by Ramos, one in the fourth on a SSC error and the final run on a wild pitch. Seminole scored one in the first, two in the fourth and one in the seventh.
Smith finished 3-for-4 with a triple, Drew Doty was 2-for-5 with two RBI and Ryan Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with a double.
The Saints travel to Sanford on Monday, March 26 for a game against Seminole State at 3:00 PM.
