Learn How to “Fight Slime Crime”

Cris Costello will speak on “Fighting Slime Crime” at this month’s Suwannee St. Johns Sierra Club Meeting, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at UF’s Entomology/Nematology building, room 3118. The focus of the talk will be on her efforts to reduce nutrient pollution in Florida’s waterways.  This issue is critical to those of us who enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and canoeing in the springs and rivers in North Florida. Excessive nutrient levels, over-tapping, lack of state leadership, lack of civic action and lack of adequate policies to protect the well-being of our water resources are all attributing to the current crisis.
