Access Local Government: Alachua County

-A message from the Alachua County Communications Office

The mission of the Alachua County Communications office is to communicate, in a unified and consistent manner, the vision of the County Commission and the activities of County government to Alachua County residents and employees in order to foster an informed and engaged citizenry.

If you would like to be updated about County events and issues, there are several options available:

The County maintains both a Facebook page and Twitter feed. Following these sources allows you to receive County information in a more informal platform that you already use. These platforms are quickly becoming the most popular and fastest way to get County information.

The County also produces a newsletter entitled “Community Update.” The newsletter is published the Friday after each Regular County Commission Meeting. It features articles about departments, current events, County awards, and a review of decisions made at the previous Commission meeting. You can subscribe to the newsletter, and view the archive. You can sign up to receive press releases emailed to you.

The County broadcasts all County Commission meetings and produces many interview shows and Public Service Announcements. This programming is available on Cox Cable Channel 12 and on the County’s Video on Demand page. Many of the original programs are posted on the County’s YouTube page, and the County’s video library.

If you have any questions about these communications tools, please call 352-374-5204.
