Study to look at How Rapid Transit Would Operate in Gainesville

How would a bus rapid transit system operate on heavily traveled Archer Road?

That’s one of the questions the city of Gainesville seeks to answer with an upcoming consultant’s study that is expected to take about 16 months and cost $600,000.

The bulk of the money will come from the federal government, including a $425,000 Federal Transit Administration grant.

The study, or alternatives analysis, will evaluate various options for a bus rapid transit system from Santa Fe College to the Gainesville Regional Airport.
