Additional Bachelor’s Program Begins This Fall

New Business Management Degree at Santa Fe College

Beginning this fall, Santa Fe College will add an additional bachelor’s degree program to their curriculum. The Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Organizational Management (SOM) degree has received final approval to begin enrollment.  Registration is underway and classes will start August 22.

“This new degree will prepare students for entry- and mid-level supervisory positions in a wide variety of area businesses,” said Dr. Jake Searcy, coordinator for the program.

The SOM bachelor’s program offers concentrations in management, human resources, information technology and public safety, and is designed for students interested in management and supervisory positions in various professions.   Students will be exposed to the theory and practice of business management including finance, economics, law, human resource management and organizational behavior.

“This is a great opportunity for working professionals to get a bachelor’s degree so that they can advance in their careers,” said Mr. Doug Robertson, student advisor for Business Programs at Santa Fe.

The SOM program provides additional education for students who have already earned an Associate of Science degree in a professional or technical discipline, and is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have entered the workforce but are interested in acquiring business management, leadership and supervisory skills.

Santa Fe College will accept new students into the program each semester.
