Saints Take Four over the Weekend Including No Hitter on Sunday

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints were dominant over the weekend, easily handling Orlando Baseball Academy on Saturday 3-1 and 21-1. On Sunday SF made quick work of Top Prospects 13-1 and 12-0.

On Saturday Dylan Barrow, Derek Vail and Josh Stewart combined on a two hitter in the Saints 3-1 game one victory. In game two the Santa Fe offense exploded for 21 runs on 21 hits including seven doubles and three triples. Colby Lusignan was 5-for-5 with a double, two triples and four RBI, Jonathan Camp finished 4-for-4 with three doubles and five RBI, Josh Stewart was 3-for-4, James Lane was 3-for-5 with four RBI and Andrew Fears finished 2-for-5.

Not to be outdone by the offense, on Sunday the Saints pitchers combined on a no hitter in game one of a double header against Top Prospects (Melbourne, FL), picking up a 13-1 win. The lone Top Prospects run came on a wild pitch. Josh Larson, Jose Batatino and Josh Stewart combined on the no-no. Jarred Mederos hit his first homerun of the fall to power the offense, finishing 2-for-4. Andrew Fears was 2-for-3, Josh Baber finished 2-for-3 with two doubles and Stewart was 2-for-4.

In game two JT Simpson, Ryan Caporice and Caleb Denmark combined on a two hit shutout with 11 strikeouts. Local standout Graham Cason (Buchholz High) led the offense, going 2-for-3 with a double and a triple. Bryan Evans, also a local product from nearby Santa Fe High School was 2-for-3 with a double and Courtney King finished 2-for-2.

The Saints return to action Sunday, October 7 against Chet Lemon’s Juice at 12:00 PM.
