SF WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Marianna, FL – The Santa Fe women’s basketball team dropped their first game of the season on Thursday night to Tallahassee CC 69-60 at the Girl’s Basketball Report Classic in Marianna, FL. The loss moves the FCSAA #6 Saints to 3-1 on the season and #3 Tallahassee improves to 3-0.
SF led by three at the half time break but a strong defensive effort by the Eagles, holding Santa Fe to just 25 second half points, was the difference in the game.
Monique Bunk led the Saints with 19 points, Tiara Thompson recorded her second straight double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Paulina Zaveckaite scored 12 to go with six rebounds.
The Saints continue in the Girl’s Basketball Report Classic on Friday against FCSAA #4 Chipola College at 7:00 PM CST and on Saturday against the NJCAA/FCSAA #1 team in the nation, Northwest Florida State College at 11:00 AM CST.
