On Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 4 p.m. Targeted Training Solutions graduated nine students from the “Paint Your Way Into Business” program at the CIED. Chief Tony Jones and Pam Davis of the Gainesville Housing Authority spoke at the ceremony. This program has taken nine individuals from public housing and put them through commercial painting training, plus entrepreneurial and small business training. From this group, four businesses were created and registered with the state. The housing authority will contract all of its painting needs to these new contractors. This program is unique in the nation and will hopefully, for these participants, become the beginning of self-sufficiency and a better life.
This program was put on in partnership with the Gainesville Housing Authority, Santa Fe College, the Alachua-Bradford Workforce Board, and my company TTS.
