Community Ed Registration Begins Jan. 3

The Center for Innovation & Economic Development (CIED)’s Continuing Education program offers a wide range of highly interactive courses for people looking to strengthen their job-related skills or move into new career areas. These online courses are affordable, fun, fast, convenient and geared just for you. Classes include A to Z Grant Writing, Designing Effective Websites, Computer Skills for the Workplace, Creating a Successful Business Plan, Keys to Effective Communication and more. The CIED’s Community Education program offers recreation and leisure courses that promote lifelong learning. Winter term registration begins Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013. For phone-in and walk-in registration, office hours are 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and the number to call is 352-395-5193. Registration will also open online the same day at http://www.sfcollege.edu/cied/communityed/. Classes begin the week of Jan. 19. Some of the new courses include Latin Basics for Couples, Me Sing? Yes, I Can Learn!, Effective Parenting, Get the Most Out of Your iPad and Walking Tour of Gainesville Series: Downtown Historic District, Southeast Historic District, The Duckpond Neighborhood and The Pleasant Street District.

Community Education is now at the CIED’s downtown location at 530 West University Avenue.
