Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe men’s and women’s basketball teams both play home games on Saturday with the women tipping things off at 2:00 PM against Mid-Florida Conference rivals College of Central Florida and the men tuning up for MFC play with a game against Tampa Bay International Academy. Both games can be seen live on www.psblive.com.
The women (12-8, 0-2 MFC) enter their game against the Patriots looking to get back on track after a 0-2 start in conference play. SF is led by NJCAA rebounding leader Paulina Zaveckiate who recently shattered the single game rebounding mark with a 32 board effort against Daytona on Wednesday, January 9. Despite the recording setting effort, the Saints feel in overtime to the Falcons 84-80 and now need a win to keep pace in the standings.
The men (10-8, 0-0 MFC) are riding a four game winning streak and will look to make it five when they host non-conference opponent Tampa Bay International Academy at 4:00 PM. Sophomore guard Bobby Hunter is currently leading the NJCAA in scoring with 24.1 points per game.
