SF Student Government Spring General Election Results

Student Government‘s 2013 Spring General Election ended at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 3. A total of 1229 students (eight percent of the student body) participated in the election.

The winners are

  • student body president – Daniel Freed (Students United)
  • student body vice president – Amber Gale (Students United)
  • student body treasurer – Courtney “Kentucky” Costellow (Students United)
  • student body chief justice – Donnie Lopez

The other four members of the 2013-2014 Student Government Leadership Team will be known after the Programming & Legislative Branches finish their processes.

Twenty-four students were elected senators, including 16 at-large senators representing the Northwest Campus and eight academic senators representing six academic concentrations.

The referendum on this year’s ballot asked “Should Santa Fe College’s Northwest Campus and centers be made smoke-free?” 1179 students responded, and 733 (62.2 percent) answered yes and 446 (37.8 percent) answered no.
