Gainesville, FL – The St. John’s River Vikings had only one hit in game one of a double header against the Santa Fe Saints Saturday afternoon and it came in their last at bat. Karla Claudio pitched a no hitter until the Vikings final at bat in the bottom of the seventh inning left the yard to break up the no-no and end the game in walk off fashion 1-0.
The Vikings carried their game one momentum into game two, taking the night cap 5-3 to complete the two game sweep.
Despite the losses Santa Fe (27-14, 12-4 MFC) remains in first place in the Mid-Florida Conference by at least one game, depending on outcomes from the other MFC games today.
The Saints return to action on Tuesday at home against Lake Sumter State College at 2:30 PM.
