Tutoring Company Launches Services in Gainesville

When Parliament Tutors founder David Greenberg jumped into a saturated tutoring market three years ago, he was determined to differentiate his company. Greenberg took advantage of his online tutoring platform to recruit and train tutors, but sent them directly to students’ homes for in-person lessons.

Parliament Tutors announced on Monday, July 8 the launch of its services in Gainesville, Fla. “We are excited to branch out to the students of Gainesville and the Alachua County area. As the home of the University of Florida, as well as Santa Fe College, we found this city as an opportunity where we could offer a significant value to local schools and their students,” explained Parliament Tutors intern and UF journalism student Samantha Doucette.

“We found our niche and were able to reduce costs by taking advantage of online tools to recruit and train while filling the demand for in-home tutoring,” said Robert Gilbert, Parliament Tutors CEO. “Online tutoring continues to grow in popularity but many students and parents remain weary about meeting their teachers on a screen.”

Parliament Tutors’ online recruitment platform features a Skype video conference integrated with an online whiteboard, Scriblink, to collaborate on and draw out problems. In-home lessons are individualized depending on the subject and each student’s needs.
