Santa Fe College debuts one of North Florida’s largest collections of gems, fossils and minerals at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 in the lobby of Building X on SF’s Northwest Campus.
Twenty-four new cases house the collection which includes a 4.6-billion-year-old meteorite from Namibia, petrified wood, dinosaur fossils and various minerals.
About 80 percent of the collection was donated from the former Earth Wonders Geological Museum in Flagler County. The exhibit in Flagler County closed two years ago, and was acquired by SF in June after competing with other organizations to obtain the collection.
