Men’s Basketball Improves to 4-0 with 70-56 Win Over Marion Military

SF MEN’S BASKETBALL

Tallahassee, FL – The Santa Fe Saints hit 13 three pointers in route to a 70-56 victory over Marion Military Academy (AL) Saturday afternoon, moving their record to a perfect 4-0.  Salim Gloyd and Jonathan Hood led the way offensively, each scoring 19 points.  Gloyd hit four three pointers to give him nine on the weekend.

The Saints jumped out early and led the game at halftime 44-24.  The stretched the lead to as many as 24 in the second half before a late surge from Marion cut it to 14.

Santa Fe was effective from the three point line for the second straight game, hitting 13-for-28 a day after going 10-for-24 against Faulkner State.

Takija Knight was a stalwart on the defensive end grabbing 13 rebounds to go with two blocks.

“This was a good team effort on both ends of the court today,” said SF Coach Chris Mowry.  “We played unselfishly and defended very well.  We are ready to get some guys healthy and get ready for Palm Beach on Friday.”

The Saints host Palm Beach Friday, November 15 in the SF Gym at 7:00 PM.
