Men’s and Women’s Basketball Hosts Rival College of Central FL on Saturday, Jan. 25

The Santa Fe men’s and women’s basketball teams play their biggest games to date on Saturday, January 25 when the College of Central Florida makes the short trip down I-75 for two important Mid-Florida Conference match-ups.

The women (7-13, 2-3 MFC) enter against the Patriots needing a win to keep pace in the state tournament picture.  SF defeated CF 66-63 on Jan. 8 in Ocala and will look to make it two in a row to even their conference record at 3-3.  Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The men (16-4, 1-0 MFC) were victorious in their first MFC game, defeating Florida State College-Jacksonville 74-56 on the road.  The stakes will be raised Saturday when the defending NJCAA National Champions come to town for a 4 p.m. tip.  The Patriots (18-4, 1-0 MFC) also won their first MFC contest over Daytona State so Saturday’s game will be for sole possession of first early in the conference schedule.

Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring a canned good for the “Weekend Hunger Backpack Program” to help end hunger in Alachua County.

Radio station Magic 101.3 will be on hand during the men’s game to throw out t-shirts at halftime.

For fans that cannot attend, the games will be broadcast on www.ihigh.com/santafesaints
