The Office of Civic Engagement and Service is interested in speaking with full time faculty and staff interested in serving as adviser for Alternative Spring Break 2014 – Selma, Ala., Sunday, March 2 through Monday, March 10.
ASB Selma is hand-on service and educational trip that includes a walk across the Edmund Pettus bridge to commemorate Bloody Sunday, a pivotal moment in the American Civil Rights Movement of 1965. Additionally, attendees will participate in comprehensive non-conflict violence resolution training according to the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, and will attend day trips to Montgomery and Birmingham.
There is no cost to the adviser; all registration fees, travel expenses, meals, etc., are provided.
