Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints took care of business on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference tilt against Morton College (IL), defeating the Panthers 15-3 at SF Field.  Connor Rooney earned the win with two scheduled innings and five other pitchers combined to scatter six hits.

Santa Fe (17-10, 5-3 MFC) pulled away early, scoring three in the first, two in the second and two more in the third for a 7-2 advantage.  The big inning came in the fifth when the Saints put five runs on the board with just one hit.  Three SF batters were hit by pitches in the inning and seven were hit in the game.

The Saints padded their lead in the seventh with three more runs for the 15-3 final.

Santa Fe had 13 hits on the day and took advantage of seven Morton College errors.

Casey Scoggins led the way, going 3-for-3 with a triple, a RBI, and two runs scored.  Jonathan Camp finished 2-for-4 with two RBI, Andrew Fears was 1-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI, and Colby Lusignan was 1-for-3 with three RBI.

The Saints will face off against Daytona State College on Wednesday, March 26 on the road at 3:00 PM in a Mid-Florida Conference match-up.
