SF FASTPITCH
Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe’s deep run at the FCSAA State Tournament resulted in three players being honored by the FCSAA on the Atlantic District All-Tournament team.
Freshman pitcher Maddy Peres, sophomore infielder Erin Marsh, and freshman shortstop Beri Scott represented the Saints for their superior play during the three day tournament.
Peres was 1-1 in tournament play, tossing 16.2 innings with seven strikeouts. The Mid-Florida Conference Pitcher of the Year started things off on the right foot for Santa Fe, pitching a three hit shutout in the Saints 1-0 win over Lake Sumter State College in the first round.
Beri Scott was locked in at the plate from the outset and finished play 5-for-11 (.455 BA) with two doubles and three RBI.
Erin Marsh hit safely in all four games, going 5-for-14 (.357) with three RBI. Her defense had as much to do with her nomination to the All-Tournament team as her offense as she made numerous diving plays to save runs.
