SF WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe freshman forward Brenique Garment recently signed with Shorter University, Santa Fe Coach Chanda Stebbins announced. Garment will begin at Shorter in the fall and have three years of eligibility remaining.
Shorter University is a NCAA Division II institution located in Atlanta, GA. The Hawks compete in the Gulf South Conference and finished 6-20 overall and 4-16 in GSC play under 23 year Head Coach Vic Mitchell.
Garment played well down the stretch for the Saints during her freshman campaign, and finished averaging 2.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. Her best game of the season came against the College of Central Florida in a FCSAA Tournament clinching victory over the Patriots. She scored 11 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead SF to the FCSAA Tournament for the seventh time in the last eight years.
“We are all very excited for Brenique and her opportunity at Shorter,” said Stebbins. “She will have a great chance to contribute right away and we look forward to following her career over the next three years.”
