SF’s MBK program has a new home in Building S

The My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Program is now a part of Student Development Instruction and has found a new home in S-242. Please be sure to refer students to our program.

MBK is a department dedicated to the recruitment and retention of black males. It’s mission is to build an authentic community of brotherhood built on trust, transparency and camaraderie amongst our black men on campus while creating a supportive culture committed to their success both academically and socially. MBK is dedicated to providing focused academic and enrichment opportunities that increase our participant’s educational motivation through specialty advising, individualized counseling, monthly empowerment sessions, mentoring and student engagement activities. Our goals are to increase enrollment of black males, increase successful completion of semester classes, increase graduation rates, assist participants in navigating the SF college experience, provide opportunities for leadership growth and personal development and provide a sense of community for our participants.
