The Santa Fe Saints made quick work of Trinity College of Florida on Saturday afternoon, sweeping the Tigers in just a little over an hour to pick up a nonconference win. The victory moves SF to 22-4 overall, and they remain 4-2 in the MFC.
Trinity hung around in the first set, keeping things close until a late surge by the Saints helped them to a 25-21 win. The final two sets were not nearly as competitive as SF jumped out to early leads and cruised to 25-8 and 25-6 victories.
Sophomore Savannah Young led the way offensively, picking up 13 kills. Ruth Harrington and Kaylin Powell had eight kills each. Farah Rajaee led both teams with 30 assists, and four players had six digs or more.
Santa Fe has a big week coming up, starting off with a trip to MFC rival Florida State College-Jacksonville on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. That game will be available live online at www.ihigh.com/floridastjax.
