Saints wining streak reached eight Saturday

Ruth Harrington led a spirited Saints effort on Saturday afternoon against Suncoast Conference foe Polk State College, piling up 17 kills to lead SF to a 3-1 victory over the Eagles (27-25, 21-25, 25-20, 25-1).  The win is the eighth in a row for Santa Fe, and their second against Polk this season. They also defeated PSC on September 4 in Winter Haven, 3-0.

The Saints displayed their usual balanced offense, with four players totaling eight or more kills.  Savannah Young was second behind Harrington with 12, Julie Fuchs has nine, and Kaylin Powell 8. SF had 83 digs in the match, including 23 from Ann-Lorrayne Bzoch, and 19 from Savannah Young.

Farah Rajaee had her second highest assist total of the season, finishing with 48.

The Saints will take a few days off before returning to the court for their final home match of the season against Gulf Coast State College at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 30.
