Become a citizen scientist! FrogWatch USA is a citizen science program of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) that offers individuals an opportunity to learn about the wetlands in their community, to identify local frog calls and to report data.

Frogs are an integral link in the food chain and are indicators of an ecosystem’s health, but their populations are declining. As a volunteer, your data will aid in the conservation of these cherished animals.

The Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo will be hosting training courses for potential volunteers on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m.. Registration by Jan. 30 is required to attend courses. No previous frog or science background is needed, only a desire to learn about the world around you.  Please contact Jade Salamone at frogwatch@sfcollege.edu or call 352-395-7358.
