That’s what Santa Fe College can say about itself after receiving the 2015 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence on March 18, arguably the most prestigious award for an American community college.

The review process is more grueling than most accreditations. The Aspen Institute pulls from more than 1,000 two-year institutions the 150 colleges that best prepare students for the rest of their lives, then pares that number down to 10, then one.
