Dual Enrolled EMT Students finished 1st in the EMT competition

Abby Neal and Kayla Wilson, dual enrolled seniors from Gainesville High School, competed on March 26 in Orlando, Florida at State HOSA competition in EMT.  Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) is the CTE student organization associated with health care students in secondary and post-secondary levels.

Kayla and Abby competition in EMT involved them first taking a test which then qualified them to go on to their clinical skill exam.  After passing their written EMT test, they then competed against 20 other EMT secondary teams from across the State of Florida.  Kayla and Abby performed so well on both their test and skills that they finished 1st in the EMT competition against all the other teams in the entire State of Florida.

By finishing in the top 3 at the State HOSA competition, they will now be going to Anaheim, California at the end of June to compete at the National Leadership HOSA conference.  What a fabulous accomplishment and thanks to the SF instructors who taught them so well!
