Santa Fe College will hold spring commencement at the Northwest Campus gymnasium, 3000 NW 83rd St., Thursday and Friday. Bagpiper Benjamin A. Pugh will perform along with the Gainesville Brass Quintet.
The Health Sciences commencement ceremony will be held Thursday, April 30 at 3 p.m., Non-health A.S., B.A.S, B.S. and certificate programs will graduate Friday, May 1 at 3 p.m., and graduation for all A.A. degree students will be Friday, May 1 at 7 p.m. There will also be a pinning ceremony for nursing graduates on Thursday, April 30 at noon.
At the various ceremonies, 32 international students will graduate this term, representing 10 countries including Bolivia, China, Columbia, Honduras, India, Japan, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom and Venezuela.
This is the first time Santa Fe College will hold three graduation ceremonies. This is an effort to further reduce overcrowding. The effort began at fall commencement in December requiring tickets for all attendees.
Ticketing for the event continues for spring, with the addition of a third ceremony time. Tickets are color-coded and assigned to a specific ceremony date and time. Each SF graduate will receive four graduation tickets. Guests are required to present a ticket to enter the gymnasium.
Guests without tickets are invited to view a live-stream of the graduation ceremony in the SF Fine Arts Hall or in the Building E auditorium. The ceremony will also be projected live on a big-screen in the gymnasium parking lot.
Once the ceremony begins, entry to the building will be closed. Those arriving late will be directed to the Fine Arts Hall or E-Auditorium.
