Saints sweep Webber behind strong play from Walker and Hendry

Sophomores Amber Hendry and Haley Walker paced the NJCAA #18/FCSAA #3 Santa Fe Saints (9-1) past Webber International University (1-8) on Wednesday evening in Gainesville, combining on 19 kills to give SF their ninth win of the season.

The Saints came out strong in the first set and cruised to a 25-16 victory. The Warriors fought hard in the second set and hung around until Santa Fe pulled away down the stretch for a 25-20 win and a 2-0 match lead.

SF got off to a strong start in the third set, and rode the wave of momentum to a 25-18 win, and a 3-0 sweep.

Hendry finished with a team high 11 kills, and Walker had eight kills and six digs. Farah Rajaee, seeing her first consistent action since injuring herself in the preseason, led the way with 17 assists.
The Saints have a busy weekend ahead of them, playing four matches on Friday and Saturday in Miami.

On Friday, they will take on Missouri State University-West Plains at 11 a.m., and FCSAA #6 Polk State College at 3 p.m. On Saturday, they will face the defending FCSAA champions, #5 Miami Dade College at 11:00 AM, and #2 Palm Beach State College at 3 p.m.
