The Human Resources Office is excited to announce that we have a new Employment Manager, Ms. Lola Christian.

Lola Christian is a well-known member of the Santa Fe College family and is one of the college’s brightest success stories. She began her educational journey at Santa Fe College in 2000 pursuing an A.A. in Psychology and an A.A.S. in Business Administration and it was during this time that now retired Business Program faculty member Bill Wright encouraged her to complete an internship at SF in the Human Resources Office.

The HR department recognized Lola’s talent and passion for human resources and continued to employ her as a student employee until her graduation. Upon successful completion of her associate degrees, she sought a full-time position with the college and was hired as an Administrative Secretary in the Human Resources office in 2004. In the years that followed she went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Administration from Saint Leo University and a master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Capella University all while continuing to work full time in the SF Human Resources Department continuously increasing her responsibilities. During that time, she has been actively involved with shared governance serving on a variety of college-wide committees and as an executive officer of the Career Service Council, including two years as the Chair of the Career Service Council. She has also been an active member of the SF AFC chapter and served as the Membership Co-Chair for several years.SF101315_HRAwardLolaChristian

We already know what an asset Lola Christian is to the college and are confident that she will serve the college community with integrity and professionalism in this new role, bringing a wealth of SF and HR experience and much enthusiasm and passion for assisting students, job seekers, and college departments with dynamic recruitment and hiring strategies to ensure that SF continues to recruit and retain the highest quality faculty and staff.

“I am so proud to have this opportunity to serve the college in this capacity,” Lola said.  “I understand the power that Santa Fe College holds to change lives because I am a living example of it.  Santa Fe College changed my life, gave me the foundation and opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. I love this college and feel so fortunate that I am able to achieve my professional goals and give back to the institution that gave me so much. There is no place that I would rather work than the #1 college in the nation recruiting the next generations of SF superstars!”
