Omar (pictured) earned a “Best Senator” award for his outstanding portrayal of Senator Tom Cotton, and Liam and Omar won awards as members of the “Best Committee.” The Model Senate is a mock Senate where students introduce and work on legislation in committees, speak on the Senate floor, participate in caucus meetings, and learn some of the realities of working in the U.S. Congress. The group was coached by faculty members Alan Beck and Dustin Fridkin.
