Cathy Mott’s Fourteen Year Celebration

SF021716_CathyMott04One of Santa Fe College’s own is retiring after 14 years of service. Cathy Mott began at the College in November 2002 as the Accountant in the Office for Development.  She was promoted in September 2009 to Executive Assistant to the Vice President for the Office for Development where she was responsible for coordinating, implementing and managing the online application process for the scholarship awards. Cathy also oversaw and implemented the tri-annual scholarship award process. She was responsible for explaining matching funds during the final matching certification rush to a major donor, resulting in a $1 million donation for scholarships.

“My first day at Santa Fe was the best day of my final journey toward retirement”, said Cathy.

“The fourteen years at Santa Fe have truly been the most rewarding of my career; from working with donors who have a passion to help students fulfill their dreams, to working with other colleagues that share the same passion. I have always believed that the students at Santa Fe are the reason for coming to work each day and that is still true today.”

As she retires, and her youngest moves to a career of their own, Cathy said that she can now close the door to the past and open the door to new adventures, set new goals, dream new dreams and finally get to, “do what I want, when I want!” In closing Cathy stated, “It has been an honor to work with the Santa Fe family and I will miss each one of you.” A celebration to send Cathy off begins March 29 at 2:30 p.m. in the President’s Lobby.
