CENTRAL FLORIDA AVOIDS SEASON SWEEP, DEFEATS SANTA FE SAINTS BASEBALL 10-1

The College of Central Florida avoided a season sweep at the hands of Santa Fe College by defeating the Saints in Gainesville 10-1 yesterday afternoon, April 11, 2016.  Santa Fe College swept a three game series to kick off Mid-Florida Conference play back in March. The loss drops Santa Fe College to 35-6 and 16-3 in the MFC.

Santa Fe College managed just one hit despite striking out only twice.  Santa Fe College starting pitcher Trent Johnson went five innings, allowing three runs on seven hits. Ricky Miranda tossed two innings, and Robert Girgis one inning. Cole Parks had the lone Saints hit. Central Florida finished with 13 hits as a team.

Santa Fe College will have a chance to bounce back when they travel to Lake Sumter State College on Wednesday, April 13 for a 3:00 PM game.
