Under the direction of SF College Music Professor Lynn Sandefur, the singers will perform a variety chorale featuring selections from different decades and different styles of song. The program includes old favorites as well as new arrangements from classical music, jazz, pop, and Broadway show tunes.

Over 50 students will participate in “Sing Into Spring.” Guest performers will include cast members of “Sweet Charity” who will give a sneak peek into Santa Fe’s summer musical. “Sweet Charity” will run in the Fine Arts Hall for two weekends, May 12-14 and May 19-21, 2016.

The concert will also feature guest appearances by Kelli McGill, Tim Bergman and Matthew Shaffer. The Santa Fe Band, under the direction of Music Professor Steve Bingham, Ph.D., and Professor of Piano Mitch McKay, will accompany the singers.

Former SF College student Joan Freese will be spotlighted on stage as she performs, in American Sign Language, the selections presented by the singers.

“Sing Into Spring” is sponsored in part by the SF College Fine Arts Department and the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture and Visit Gainesville, a Tourist Development Tax Grant from the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners in conjunction with the Alachua County Tourist Development Council.
