This year’s world blood donors day falls just a few days after the shootings at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, and weeks after a blood shortage announcement in Gainesville.
Students at Santa Fe college hosted a blood drive to help those in need in both Gainesville and Orlando. Lifesouth shipped blood to Orlando over the weekend, and encourage people to continue giving. Blood is needed only for those in Orlando, but for the people in need locally, since donating to Orlando made the supply even smaller.
