August 3, 1995 – SFCC begins a new program aimed at rural high school students to help them develop their skills to finish high school, decide on a career and get into college or vocational training. The Educational Talent Search is for 9th thru 12th grades.
August 3, 2002 – 13th Annual Job Fair at SFCC saw about 60 employees and 700 job seekers.

August 5, 1995 – Jefferson Smurfit Corporation donates the bat cave in Newberry to SFCC.
