REVISED Fine Arts Department Performance Schedule for 2016-2017

MARCH 16, 2017:  Please note this schedule has been revised and the dates, times, and locations of some events have changed.
Mark your calendars now! Most events are held at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Hall, where tickets are $15 for adults in the orchestra section and $12 in the balcony; tickets for UF students, seniors over 60, and children under 12 are $9; and tickets for Santa Fe College students, faculty, and staff are free with a valid SF College identification card. Master Artist Series ticket prices vary. Please refer to our website at www.sfcollege.edu/finearts or call 352-395-4181 for information.

Sept. 9 – East Meets West, Pianist Mitch McKay in concert
Sept. 16 – Master Artist Series/gospel and R&B performance by singer/songwriter Avery*Sunshine with two local gospel choirs
Sept. 29– Winds and Classics The SF Wind Ensemble, directed by Professor Steve Bingham, performs band arrangements of music by famous European composers.
Oct. 13-15 – SF Theatre Department production Bang, Bang, You’re Dead!
Oct. 28 at 8 p.m. – Florida Dance Association Young Dancers Workshop Showcase “A”
Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. – Florida Dance Association Young Dancer Workshop Showcase “B”
Nov. 2-5 – Florida Theatre Conference
Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. – Peter and the Wolf, Dance Theatre of Santa Fe
Nov. 17 – An Evening of Jazz The Santa Fe Big Band, Jazz Combo, and Rhythm & Blues Band, directed by Professor Steve Bingham, perform traditional jazz arrangements.
Dec. 1 – Songs for the Season Professor Lynn Sandefur directs the Santa Fe Singers in an evening of holiday music certain to delight audience members of all ages. The concert also features a variety of percussion sounds and rhythms directed by Professor Steve Bingham. A family holiday tradition!

Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. – A Children’s Holiday at Santa Fe Enjoy a fun-filled day in the Fine Arts Hall with kid-friendly crafts and refreshments in the lobby, a great musical performance in the theatre, and a chance to meet Santa Claus after a bit of winter wonderland magic. Another holiday tradition for the whole family!

Jan. 12 & 13 – Elements of Style, Dance Theatre of Santa Fe in a performance featuring a variety of styles in works from guest artists and new works created by SF College Dance Department faculty members
Jan. 20 – Master Artist Series/Beatrice Coron – Visual Artist TED Talk
Jan. 21 – Chuchito Valdes in a solo jazz piano concert
Feb. 10 Dance of My Heart (film) & excerpts from Carmen Suite (ballet). The documentary film honors two icons of the dance world, Cuban choreographer Alberto Alonso and Russian prima ballerina Maya Plisetskaya. Adiarys Almeida and Carlos Guerra, two dancers formerly with the Ballet Nacional de Cuba, will perform excerpts from Carmen Suite.
NOTE: The Master Artist Series performance of “Carmen Suite” by the Joffrey Ballet Concert Group that was originally scheduled for Feb. 10-11 is CANCELED.
Feb. 14 – Valentine’s Day Swing Dance – A swing dance class at 6:30 p.m. followed by the sounds of the Santa Fe Big Band at 7:30 p.m. Dance the night away in the lobby of the Fine Arts Hall!
Feb. 17 – Master Artist Series/pianist Stephen Beus
Mar. 2 – Winds Go Pops band concert (Building E Auditorium)
Apr. 7 Jazz Up Spring A cool concert of hot jazz features the Santa Fe Jazz Band under the direction of Professor Steve Bingham.
Apr. 11 – Spring Winds and Drums (Building E Auditorium)
Apr. 20 Sing Into Spring, a light and entertaining choral concert directed by Professor Lynn Sandefur
May 18-20 and 25-26 – A Chorus Line summer musical theatre performance. Matinee at 2 p.m. on May 20, all other performances 7:30 p.m.
June 2-3Room to Dance, Dance Theatre of Santa Fe’s annual student-choreographed and student-produced performance (Building E Auditorium)
