Please join us in welcoming Marian Nesbitt to the Santa Fe College team. Marian began serving as SF’s safety coordinator on September 1, 2016. She looks forward to meeting the faculty, staff, and students around campus and at our centers to form relationships that will contribute to the overall health and safety of the college.
Marian earned her B.A. in Classics from the University of Florida in 1997, and upon graduation accepted a position as an occupational safety and health consultant for Medical Compliance Services. After four years with the company, she established Nesbitt Safety Consultants, providing occupational safety and health consultation services to thousands of medical, dental and veterinary clients as far west as Texas and as far north as North Carolina.
In 2004, she attended the OSHA Training Institute at the University of South Florida, becoming an OSHA Authorized General Industry Trainer. Subsequently, she attended the Florida State Fire College and earned her state certification as a Fire Safety Inspector I. In 2011, she earned an A.S. in Fire Science Technology with a Subplan of Fire Safety Inspector II from St. Petersburg College. Currently, she is a nationally certified Fire Safety Inspector II and Plans Examiner I and a professional member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, and in the near future, she hopes to pursue her master’s degree in the safety field.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading about safety sciences, collecting antiques, listening to her husband play guitar, and spending time with family and friends.
Welcome, Marian!
