Santa Fe College will be sending its first Ethics Bowl Team to the Southeast Regional Ethics Bowl Competition at UCF on October 29th. Nine Santa Fe students will be engaging in civil discourse with their peers from 19 other colleges and universities, wrestling with contemporary ethical issues while listening to one another, acknowledging diverse perspectives, and exploring alternative viewpoints.
Team members will be working to prepare and present positions on twelve cases that will be used in this year’s competition. Cases are drawn from issues that arise in business, the professions (engineering, law, medicine, research, etc.) and public life (government and society). If you would like to assist the team by coaching a case that you’re particularly interested in (which can simply entail your attending one of the team’s practice sessions and sharing your thoughts/ideas on the case), contact Ann Thebaut ann.thebaut@sfcollege.edu.
