Santa Fe College competed on Saturday in the 13th Annual Southeast Regional Ethics Bowl, held at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Ethics Bowl is a competitive tournament style competition in which student teams converse about topics ranging from professional ethics to social and political topics, and are then scored by a panel of judges on their responses both to the question and one another. Topics for this year’s Ethics Bowl included: Apple’s refusal to comply with an FBI request to provide anti-encryption software to access information stored in an iPhone belonging to one of the 2015 San Bernardino shooters; a proposal to tax the beef industry as one means to combat climate change; and a proposal to legalize all illicit drugs.
