SF WOMEN’S BASKETBALL SAINTS IMPROVE TO 4-0 IN MFC PLAY WITH 83-62 WIN OVER CENTRAL FLORIDA

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints started slow but turned it on in the second half Wednesday evening in Gainesville, running away for an 83-62 win over Mid-Florida Conference rivals the College of Central Florida.

The score was tied 39-39 after the first half with each team trading the lead. The third quarter was a different story. The Saints scored early and often and pulled away to take a 51-41 advantage heading into the final quarter.

Arianna Emanuel-Wright and the Saints closed out the game on a 22-11 run and sealed their 21-point victory, moving them to 11-6 overall and a perfect 4-0 in MFC play. Emanuel-Wright finished with a team high 21 points, Corey Staples had 17, Moneisha Goldsborough 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Evelina Avleeva scored 10. Tabitha Odabe finished with a team high 13 rebounds.

The Saints will continue in MFC play Saturday on the road at St. Petersburg College at 2 p.m.
