SF BASEBALL BIG INNING PACES ABAC PAST SAINTS, 7-2

Gainesville, FL – It was a story of one big inning Friday afternoon as the Stallions of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College scored four runs in the eighth inning to defeat the NJCAA #8 Santa Fe Saints (4-2).

SF starting pitcher Robert Girgis did his part, tossing five shutout innings with seven strikeouts, leaving with the Saints head 1-0.

ABAC took their first lead in the sixth on the Santa Fe bullpen, added a run in the seventh, and plated their final four runs in that big eighth to pull away for the win.

Alex Goebel finished with a game high three hits for Santa Fe, including a double. In his first collegiate start, Jeff Misener collected two doubles and a RBI.

The Saints will try and bounce back Saturday, Feb. 4 when they host South Florida State College in a double header at noon.
