It’s more than what it looks like- inside Santa Fe College’s Teaching Zoo

Gainesville’s own Santa Fe College is currently the No. 1 community college in the nation, according to Aspen Institute. But you might not know all it has to offer.

“They (students) are held to the same standards that San Diego Wild Animal Park is held to, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Our students have to meet those same standards, so it’s a tremendous amount of work to do. But the way to learn how to be a zookeeper is to be a zoo keeper,” says Jonathan Miot, director of the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo.

Join Brooke Rayford of WGFL CBS Channel 4 News as she explores the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo.
