Indonesia is a Southeast Asian country comprised of thousands of volcanic islands representing diverse ecosystems and cultures. The archipelago is known for its picturesque beaches, active volcanoes, Komodo dragons, ancient Hindu temples, Islamic mosques and spice-rich cuisine. This linguistically, religiously, and ethnically diverse country of 250 million people receives approximately 9 million visitors each year. What attracts foreigners to this country? How do they impact the country? Can Indonesia promote its economic development by developing its tourism industry? Professor Harnadi will explore these topics and more. All are invited to attend.
