April 29, 2017- SF Fastpitch
Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe College Saints battled hard against the #3 team in the nation on Saturday in an elimination game at the FCSAA Tournament, but came up short, falling 5-2, ending their season. Chipola advanced on and won their next two games and will now face the College of Central Florida on Sunday morning.
The Saints fell into a 2-0 hole after the first inning and the Indians added another run on a throwing error in the fifth after a 20-minute delay while the umpires verified a rule. The delay didn’t help the Saints who were forced to stand around while a decision was made, including starting pitcher Autumn Green.
In the sixth SF cut into the deficit with a pair of runs on a sacrifice fly by Adrix Paradizo-Ramos, and a two out RBI single by Evelyn Arguelles.
Chipola got the two runs back in the bottom of the sixth on a RBI single and a balk with the bases loaded.
Santa Fe College had six hits against Morgan Goree, including two by Bailee Moll.
The Saints end their season with a 32-23 record.
