August 16, 2017 – Santa Fe College will be testing a new alarm system on the Northwest Campus on Wednesday, August 16 and Thursday, August 17, 2017. The new campus-wide system was recently installed and is designed to alert the students, faculty, staff and surrounding community of potential problems.
The alarm system has high-powered speakers that were installed on Buildings P, V and W. Each of those speakers will be tested individually on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017 between the hours of 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. In order to get an accurate test completed, it is possible that the alarms may sound off several times during the testing period.
There will be a full test of the entire system with all three speakers alerting at the same time on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
These are scheduled tests, and SF employees, faculty and staff will not need to evacuate any building during the tests.
