“Starry Night 2017” at the Florida Museum of Natural History

October 27, 2017 – There will be activities for all ages at the Florida Museum of Natural History for Starry Night 2017.

Starry Night 2017 will be held Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, from 6 – 10 p.m. is an opportunity to meet and interact with professional and amateur astronomers alike, learn about our universe, and stargaze at distant stars and planets.

Starry Night 2017 is a partnership of Santa Fe College Astronomy, University of Florida Astronomy, the Florida Museum of Natural History, the SF Kika Silva Pla Planetarium, and the Alachua Astronomy Club, Inc. This annual event is free and open to the public.

Guest speakers include Dr. Amy Mainzer, a NASA astrophysicist and cosmos expert and SF Kika Silva Pla Planetarium coordinator James Albury.

In addition to the speakers, there will be fun activities for all ages including:

  • Ask an Astronomer
  • Cosmic Time Tunnel
  • Discover the Invisible Universe
  • Santa Fe College Astronomy Program
  • And so much more

Food and drink vendors will be on-site.
