Fulbright Scholar Lecture on Ukrainian Revolution

January 25, 2018 – Visiting Fulbright Scholar Dr. Serhyi Kvit will be presenting a lecture on the Ukrainian revolutions and the media Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at 7 p.m. at the Santa Fe College Fine Arts Hall.

Dr. Kvit is the former Minister of Education and Science in Ukraine and is a leading expert on education policy and journalism. The lecture, “The Media Context of Ukrainian Revolutions: Understanding the Post-Soviet World” will explore the Ukrainian revolutions of the last 20th and early 21st centuries and differences in national and global levels of mass communication.

Dr. Kvit will also discuss the significance of freedom of speech and the independent media.

The lecture is part of the Fulbright Scholar Program’s Outreach Lecturing Fund, which enables Fulbright Visiting Scholars to share their interests with U.S. students and faculty.

Dr. Kvit is currently a Fulbright Scholar at Stanford University’s Europe Center.
