Saints Sweep South Florida, Move to 8-0 on Season

February 5, 2018 – The Santa Fe Saints are a Perfect 8-0 on the season after winning three games this weekend. The Saints blew out Hillsborough Community College 13-0 in Tampa Friday and followed that up with a Saturday sweep of South Florida State College 4-2 and 6-5.

Michael Paul (2-0) was dominant on the mound in Friday’s game, tossing six shutout innings, striking out three, allowing two hits and walking just one. Saints freshman Andrew Eyster went 4-5 with a home run in the win.

The FCSAA No. 5/Baseball America No. 14 Santa Fe Saints continued with their winning ways Saturday afternoon at home, defeating South Florida State College in a pair of games, 4-2 and 6-5.

Mitch Campion was lights out in the first game, striking out 11 with no walks in six innings pitched.

The second game was all Saints through the first three and a half innings but a four run fourth by the Panthers thanks to SF errors tied the game at 5-5.

The Saints answered in the bottom of the fourth with a run on a two out single by Cade Westbrook that would prove to be the winning run.

Colt Mink earned the win with 3.2 scoreless innings pitched. Westbrook and Brock Edge had two hits and two RBI each.

The undefeated Saints will travel to Tallahassee CC Monday for a 3 p.m. game.
