Another Phishing Campaign Infiltrates SF Email System

February 8, 2018 – Santa Fe College Information Technology Services (ITS) is alerting all SF employees about a phishing campaign impacting the college’s email system. The phishing is similar to an event last year claiming to have pending messages from Human Resources. This current attempt uses the phrase “Final Reminder” in the Subject line of the email and indicates that the receiver has “(3) important unread messages from University Directory” with a clickable link.

ITS says that once an SF employee clicks on the link, their computer is at risk. Other employees may receive the phishing email claiming to be from that employee’s email account.

ITS recommends deleting that email and not clicking on the link. If any SF employees have clicked the phishing link, they should change their password. The should also notify ITS at help.desk@sfcollege.edu if they have clicked the link so ITS can monitor the account for possible problems.
