SF Women’s Basketball: Saints Fly Past Central Florida 90-50 in Regular Season Finale

February 22, 2018 – With home court advantage in the Mid-Florida Conference tournament on the line, the Santa Fe Saints (16-12, 6-3 MFC) played some of their best basketball of the season, cruising past the College of Central Florida by 40 points, 90-50. The win clinches second place in the MFC. SF will now host the winner of the CF and Florida State College-Jacksonville  Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. with a trip to the FCSAA State Tournament at stake.

Things weren’t looking as promising early on when the Patriots took a nine point lead, 19-10 with a minute to go in the first quarter.

In the second quarter however, the Saints looked like a different team, outscoring CF 24-5 to take a commanding 37-24 lead into the locker room.

SF continued the offensive and defensive onslaught in the second half, outscoring the Patriots 53-26 over the final 20 minutes.

The Saints shot a robust 52 percent from the field and outrebounded the Patriots 48-25.

Stephanie Jackson led a balanced SF scoring effort, contributing 22 points, while Ivana Boyd had 13 points and 13 rebounds.
